Back in January 2024, I decided to try designing a poster in the brutalist design style, taking inspiration from an artist and video creator on Instagram named Jonny Crickets, who created the Pinocchio series. I still wanted the poster to be sort of horror film-like, considering the series of reels are comedically terrifying. I utilized still frames from the reels and added a threshold effect while applying grain and paper textures to give the poster a rough look. I can’t tell you how challenging it can be when the frames from the videos are not the best resolution when scaled up, but I somehow made it work (thank you threshold!).
